Obituary

Cynthia "Cyndi" Shalmy, 52, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on February 3, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and an impressive amount of well-earned chaos.  Our mom didn't tiptoe through this life; she stomped through it with boots on. Cyndi was the kind of woman you heard before you saw… and sometimes from the next room. Loud, proud, and famously unfiltered. She raised hell, spoke her mind, and lived life exactly how she wanted.

To know her was to know she loved fiercely, just as loudly as everything else. She taught those in her bunch how to be strong, opinionated, and unapologetically themselves. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, you knew it without a doubt and probably heard about it, too. The family would like to especially thank her friends who have been by her side these past few years and really held it down for all of her appointments, got her out of the house on adventures and made sure she didn't want for anything.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle Flynn and Shirley Ann Roberts Santos; and a brother, Tim Flynn.

Cyndi leaves behind her children, Tara Culbreath, Jonathan Shalmy, Amber Ashcraft (Garrett), Nicholas Feldhaus, Allison McCarty and Maddilynn Santos; siblings, Merle Flynn Jr. (Sandi), Tina Varnell and Daniel Rogers; grandchildren, Jaycee Culbreath, Joseph Culbreath, Tessa Stinson, Lakeyn Shalmy, River Shalmy, Aria Shalmy, Kortneigh Smith, Kymber Ashcraft, Kensington Smith, Grayson Ashcraft; and her two favorite nieces, Tara Miller and Karah Michelle and together we will carry forward her stories, her stubbornness, her blunt honesty, and her unforgettable spirit.

The family would also like to add that family and friends will be meeting up at The Refuge in Dollarway on Saturday February 21, 2026 at 12:30pm for her final ride through her stomping grounds. Please join them there in honor of Cyndi as this was a request of hers. From there, everyone will go to Cross Roads Christian Fellowship at 9833 McKelvin Rd for her Memorial Service and Celebration of Life at 2pm. Please join the family and friends. Don't be afraid to come each and every single person is welcome and encouraged to attend.
